Names for Baby Girls: Trends & Trivia

Baby Girl

But first, just a little about me:

While my own name is on the plain side, I've always liked more old-fashioned pretty names, like those of my Aunt Marian's era, pictured above.

Everything Old is New Again

Interestingly, for 2010, according to data compiled by The Social Security Administration, it seems like I'm in good company, as romantic, old-fashioned names once again top the list: Isabella, Sophia, Emma, Olivia, Ava, Emily, Abigail, Madison, Chloe, and Mia constituting the top ten.

Yes, Isabella as in Isabella Swan, from one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. (Is it any accident that Emma is the name of the actress who portrays the heroine in "the other" fantasy film phenomenon of 2011?)
